· Assisting doctors in various surgical procedure• Prepare the operating room for all emergency and scheduled procedures.• Keep principles of aseptic techniques in performing surgical scrub, setting instruments, gowning, gloving as needed for the procedure.• Monitor and report all vital signs of patient.• Administer oxygen therapy and suctions of secretions if required.• Report any untoward reactions of patient to the surgeon or anesthesiologist. • Carry out all the doctors’ order and directions.• OT Nurse has to act as circulating nurses, scrub nurses, and registered nurse first assistants.• Preparing instruments, trolleys and sterile supplies.• Assisting in draping the patient.• Checking instrument kits, including counting and functional testing; maintaining an aseptic environment.• To direct and support others and maintain a high standard of care throughout the procedure.• Assist the patient prior to surgery and provide holistic care.• Ensure compliance with the asepsis rules during all nursing care procedures in the operating theatre• Receive patients and take them into the operating theatre, undertake post-operative monitoring in the recovery room and ensure proper transfer of patients to the ward.
